100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

On May 5-7th, 2023 we are celebrating 100 years of Drexel Newman history with a weekend long celebration that will include speakers, happy hour, a dinner gala, panels of Newman alumni, tours, etc., and will culminate in a Mass celebrated by our very own Archbishop Nelson Perez! We are so blessed to serve this vibrant community of Drexel students, alumni, faculty, and staff, and we look forward to the next 100 years.


KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

 

Bishop Joseph Coffey

Ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, he was consecrated a bishop for the American prelate of the Roman Catholic church, serving as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.

 

RACHEL BULMAN

Rachel Bulman is a wife, mother of 4, speaker, and blogger. She is a regular contributor to the Word on Fire blog, co-hosts the Youtube show “Meet the Bulmans”, and will release two books in the coming months.

 

Mark Bartek

Has served as a Catholic Missionary with FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) for 17 years--leading young men and women to God and leading other missionaries to do the same. For the last 4 years, he has been leading their nearly 900 field missionaries to build mission partner support teams.


CELEBRATORY MASS w/ ARCHBISHOP PEREZ

Our celebration will culminate with the Eucharist presided by our very own Archbishop Nelson Perez at the 11:30 Sunday Mass on May 7th.

Archbishop Perez is the 10th archbishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, having been appointed by Pope Francis in January 2020.

THE PANELISTS

We will be joined by other member of our Newman and Catholic family including Alumni, past Chaplains and Campus Ministers, guests chaplains and friends who will discuss different topics from our own history to the future of College Campus Ministry.


THE GALA

A formal Gala will be held at the St. John Neumann Center (next to the Shrine, 1039 North Lawrence St., Philadelphia, PA 19123) on Saturday evening as a thanksgiving for the past and present Drexel Newman family. We will enjoy one another’s company over dinner, listen to words from Bishop Joseph Coffey on the dynamic of evangelization in our time, and we will honor different individuals who had a particular impact on this community.
